Before these lovebirds flew back to our hometown to get married (we're all from the Philippines!), we escaped the hustle and bustle of Auckland and spent a weekend exploring insanely amazing parts of the South Island. When they initially asked me if I wanted to travel with them and take their photos, I didn't realise the wonderful things that were in store.
What we saw and experienced was... too beautiful for words.
Once we landed in the Christchurch airport, we drove straight to the marvellous sights of Lake Tekapo and Aoraki/Mount Cook.
Really — how B E A U T I F U L is this world we live in?!
Anyway, after a couple of minutes of standing in awe, we traversed onward and upwards.
I honestly still can't believe we were here. Standing amidst mountains and sky and vast land. Amazing.
As well, it doesn't look so obvious in all the photos, but it was freakishly windy up there. Like, it could knock me over windy! Slightly terrifying, but mostly awe-inspiring.
When we saw this view, we couldn't help but stop and find a random place to park and take even more gorgeous photos of the scenery + the two lovebirds of course.
We spent a good chunk of our time appreciating the beauty of the world around us. And how couldn't you?
Here's Bryan and Ethel with the famous Church of the Good Shepherd! They were also very keen to explore the rocks BAREFOOT. The country girl and the city boy laughing at each other and being kids again. The best of times <3
After a nice long day of exploring, smiling, laughing, driving, walking, and talking, we stopped by a local restaurant and had these goodies:
Mmm. And that completes DAY ONE for our Christchurch/Mount Cook engagement session. Come back here soon for DAY TWO!
