Situated in several places in Auckland, Little Bird Organics has easily become one of my favourite places to go to for catch ups, a solution to a hungry tummy, or any reason I can find really.
Thanks to Natalie Allen for introducing me to this wonderful little cafe. We went to the Summer St branch one winter morning, and I instantly fell in love. It was spacious (even if it seems tiny from the outside!), beautifully decorated, and full of scrumptious things I would undeniably spend all my hard-earned money on.
This here is the Cacao Superfoods Smoothie ($9). It has all things glorious: banana, date, cacao, almond milk (oh good Lord I love almond milk), vanilla, little bird's trail clusters with cashews and brazil nuts.
Needless to say, I dominated this smoothie.
And what we have above is what Nat ordered: the delicious Kimchi Pancake ($17.50). A delicious chickpea and kimchi pancake, crispy on the outside and perfectly soft in the middle. Topped with a watercress, lettuce, avocado & radish salad with sweet chili and cashew aioli -- this made for the best breakfast to fill anybody up.
This baby here is mmmmm so good.
I'm an eggs benny kind of girl, so I opted for the Portobello Benedict ($18.00) - I loved their house-made raw bagel topped with a bed of spinach, marinated portobello mushrooms, topped with cashew hollandaise sauce.
It may look like it's a tiny plate, but trust me, it's one filling meal, for sure.
I just had a great time all around - I felt so happy and at peace being in this little buzzing sanctuary.
It was full of happy people, delightful treats, and fine products that are absolutely aimed for healthier living. And that's one of my goals this year: to develop a healthier lifestyle, and that includes eating better.
I'm excited to visit Little Bird Organics again and order everything on the menu!!! Who's coming with me? :)
